Drug seizure at Peters Street, Dublin on the 5/9/08

Garda National Drugs Unit and the Customs Service in a joint operation arrested a male, and a quantity of cocaine has also been seized.

As part of a joint operation involving the Garda National Drugs Unit and the Customs Service,a 20 year old man was arrested and a quantity of cocaine has been seized.   

The operation took place this afternoon the 5th of September 2008 at Peters Street in Dublin and between 5kg and 6kgs of cocaine were seized. The drugs subject to analysis may have a street value of up to €400,000. 

The 20 year old man, who is from The Congo,  is detained under Section 2 of the Drug Trafficking Act at Pearse Street Garda Station and is expected to appear at the Dublin District Court tomorrow morning the 6th of Sept. 2008.
