Robbery at Nutgrove, Dublin on the 8/5/08 - and updates.

Gardai investigating the robbery of a substantial quantity of cash from the crew of a security van have made a number of arrests.

 

The two men detained at Rathfarnham Garda Station under Section 30 of the Offences Against The State Act have been released without charge and a file will be prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions. 

One man remains in custody at Tallaght in relation to this investigation.

The woman aged 61 years who was arrested under Section 30 of the Offences Against The State Act, in connection with the robbery in Rathfarnham has been released from Garda custody without charge.  

A file will be prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions.

Gardai investigating the robbery of a substantial quantity of cash from the crew of a security van have made a number of arrests. 

The robbery took place on the 8th of May 2008 at 15.20 when two men, one of whom was believed to be  armed, held up security company staff as they were about to fill ATM's at Nutgrove Shopping Centre in Rathfarnham, Dublin. 

The men escaped from the scene in a gold coloured car, this car was abandoned at Meadow Mount, Churchtown, Co. Dublin. 

On the morning of the 10th of May, Gardai investigating the incident searched three houses in the Dublin 8 area. 

During the course of the searches two handguns and a stolen van were recovered. 

A total of four people have been arrested, three males, one in his 20's,  two others are in their 30's and a female in her 60's. 

They are detained under Section 30 of the Offences Against The State Act at Tallaght and Rathfarnham Garda Stations and may be detained for up to 72 hours.
