Limerick Feuding - Arrests on the 4/5/08 - and updates.

Gardaí have made two arrests as part of an operation put in place targeting on going feuding in Limerick City.

 

The two men who were arrested under Section 30 Offences Against the State Act, in connection with on going feuding in Limerick City on 4th May, 2008 will appear before Limerick District Court at 10.30 a.m. on the 6th May, 2008. 

Gardai in Limerick arrested a third man aged 24 years in Limerick this morning in relation to fueding activity and he is detained under Section 30 of the Offences Against the State Act and held at Roxboro Road Garda Station.

Gardaí have made two arrests as part of an operation put in place targeting on going feuding in Limerick City. 

The arrests were made by local personnel who were assisted by members of the Emergency Response Unit. 

Shortly before 2am this morning a car, believed to be stolen, was observed by Gardaí in Limerick City.  It refused to stop when requested to do so and was subsequently stopped a short distance away on the Athlunkard Road, Corbally, Co, Clare. Athlunkard is just outside Limerick City.  

Two men were arrested who were in the car and a loaded Gloch pistol was recovered. 

The car was confirmed to be stolen. 

Both men are presently detained under section 30 of the Offences Against The State Act at Henry Street and Mayorstone Garda Stations. 

They are aged 20 and 23 years. 

There is no further information available at this time.
