Murder investigation at Kilmainham, Dublin - and updates.

Gardai at Kilmainham have now launched a full scale murder inquiry into the death of Denis Brennan, aged 60 years at Kilmainham, discovered on the 8/7/08.

 

The 39 year old man who was being questioned in connection with the death of Denis Brennan (Previous release 843/08 below refers) is due to appear in District Court 44, Chancery Street at 2.00pm to be charged in connection with the incident.

Gardaí in Kilmainham have arrested a man in his late 30s this morning in connection with the death of Mr. Denis Brennan.

He is being detained at Kilmainham Garda Station under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984.  See previous press release below.

Gardai at Kilmainham investigating the murder of Denis Brennan are appealing to taxi drivers who were in the area of James Street / Bow Lane / Thomas Street between 2am and 4am on  Sunday 6th July 2008 and who may have picked up a male passenger to contact the Incident Room at Kilmainham at 01-666 9750 or the Garda Confidential Number 1-800-666-111.

Gardai at Kilmainham have now launched a full scale murder inquiry into the death of Denis Brennan, aged 60 years. 

Mr. Brennan's body was found in his apartment at Bow Bridge, Kilmainham, Dublin 8 yesterday morning. 

Any person who may have information relating to his death or may have seen anything suspicious in the area between Saturday 5th July 2008 and Tuesday morning 8th July 2008, is asked to contact the incident room at Kilmainham Garda Station on 01-6669750 or the Garda confidential line 1800-666-111. 

A press briefing will be held at Kevin Street Garda Station at 3pm today (9th July 2008).

The Gardai at Kilmainham are investigating the circumstances surrounding the discovery of a mans body in an apartment at Bowbridge, Old Kilmainham, Dublin 8 this morning (8th July 2008).

The 60yr old mans body has been taken to the City Morgue where a full post mortem examination will take place.

A Garda technical team are currently examining the scene.
