Alleged assault victim dies, Crumlin, Dublin

A man was pronounced dead yesterday evening the 12th of July 2008.

 

A 35 year old man who was the victim of an alleged assault on Clonmacnoise Road, Crumlin in Dublin on the 2nd of July 2008 has died at St James' Hospital. 

The man was pronounced dead yesterday evening the 12th of July 2008. 

The dead man has been named as David Rooney of Durrow Road, Crumlin, Dublin 12. 

A post mortem examination will be carried out by the State Pathologist on Monday the 14th of July to establish the exact cause of death. 

An incident room was set up at Sundrive Road Garda Station following the initial incident and the investigation is ongoing.   

Gardai would like anyone who was in the Sundrive Road/Clonmacnoise Circle area  of Dublin, on the 2nd of July 2008 between 8.30 p.m. and 8.45 p.m., to contact them at Sundrive Road Garda Station on 01  666 6600.
