Guinness Book World Record in Oranmore at 3pm on Saturday 27th October 2012 - Hi-Five 4 Hi-Vis
An Garda Síochána is proud to support the upcoming world record attempt organised by the HiFive4HiVis Committee and Galway County Council’s Road Safety Together Committee.
Their goal and ambition is to create awareness of the importance of wearing Hi-Vis clothing by pedestrians and cyclists on our roads.
They are creating a Guinness Book World Record for the Greatest Number of People wearing Hi-Vis vests in the one area at 3pm, Saturday 27th October 2012.
They hope that Hi-Five 4 Hi-Vis culture will grow year on year and become a national campaign where every person knows their social responsibility and the importance of wearing Hi-Vis clothing when walking or cycling on the roads.
Aim:
Create Social Responsibility and awareness of the importance of wearing Hi Visibility Jackets
Goal:
Create a New Guinness Book World Record for greatest number of people wearing Hi-Vis safety vests in one place for 10mins.

Oranmore Astro Turf, Oranmore, Co Galway

Why:
We can be World leaders in creating awareness of the importance of pedestrians & cyclists taking responsibility for their safety while using our roads. In darkness or glaring sunlight you must make yourself visible to traffic by wearing Hi-Vis safety vests.
