This is a service aimed at facilitating those who are unable or have difficulty in communicating verbally with the emergency services. This includes deaf, hard of hearing and speech impaired citizens. "By providing these people with access to an SMS service for contacting the Emergency Services, we are taking a step closer towards parity of access for all to the emergency services." said Minister Rabbitte.
