Patrons attending are strongly advised to travel early to the City allowing for any inclement weather conditions that may prevail /to avoid any road works ( Nil advised ) or unexpected delays, traffic collision/incident etc. or extra volume owing to other event(s) that maybe taking place. Patrons using City Centre Car Parks are advised Bus Eireann will provide service to / from grounds from outside Dunnes Stores, Lower Henry Street (commencing 18.15hrs). Private Operators will also provide a Shuttle Bus Service to/from the grounds from the Kilmurray Lodge Hotel, Dublin Road, commencing 16:30Hrs.), and from Ryans Centra, Raheen, (commencing at 17:00 Hrs.) and from the Radisson Hotel Blu on the Ennis Rd. GENERAL TRAFFIC ARRANGEMENTS:
1. Thomond Bridge / Sarsfield Bridge and New Shannon Bridge will remain open to Two Way Traffic throughout the event. Open to traffic is The New Limerick Tunnel, directions; From M7 Dublin direction follow the N18 towards Galway - take Exit 3 (Limerick West/Caherdavin), take 2nd Exit at Clonmacken Roundabout, take 1st Exit at Dunnes Stores Jetland Shopping Centre Roundabout & go straight to Traffic Lights at Ivans Shop, at Caherdavin X, go straight through jnct. towards Brookville/Northern Ring Rd. Inbound from N18 Galway direction take Exit 3 Caherdavin Exit and proceed thru to Clondrinagh & Coonagh Roundabout(s) to Ivans Shop, Caherdavin X and left onto Brookville/Northern Ring Road ( Note: Parking will not be allowed along Brookville/Northern Ring Rd.
2. Traffic travelling out bound (N7) on Sexton Street North towards Old Cratloe Road and past the stadium or intending to turn right at Hassetts Cross northbound along Kileely Road (R464) will not be restricted but due to volume delays can be expected from as early as 17:30 Hrs Similarly traffic travelling inbound/outbound on N18 (to/from Shannon Airport) can expect to experience delays also. It is illegal to park on grass verges and Patrons are advised not to do so @ or Near Watchouse Cross Traffic Lights Vehicles found so illegally parked are liable to receive Fixed Charge Penalty Notices
There are no general parking facilities near the grounds or available within the grounds and vehicle access to the grounds (this includes access for vehicles with special needs) is limited by Pass Only issued by the Stadium Management. Parking restrictions will be put in place at / near the Stadium. Parking on grass verges is strictly prohibited. Vehicles (other than Large PSV Vehicles which will be allowed park West of Blue Gate only) that are found in breach are liable to be impounded. Payment of Impound Fee before release will apply.
4. Pre match Road closures and diversions as set out below will come into effect at 17.30Hrs and will remain in place until the match has started and for a period afterwards as considered necessary ( see last sentence this para.) Where road closures / diversions apply & only public services vehicles [including taxis / hackneys] buses / minibuses and specially adapted [disabled] vehicles and vehicles with Residents Passes will be allowed proceed beyond the road closures / diversions. Resident Passes only are available at Mayorstone Garda Station. In the interest of pedestrian safety No traffic will be allowed travel either way on Old Cratloe Rd from Hassetts X to Moylish R/About immediately after match to allow patrons exit/disperse safely ie. between 21:45Hrs/22:30Hrs
Diversions:
No traffic diversions will apply but in the event of an emergency or should severe congestion arise on Old Cratloe Rd. then traffic travelling inbound along the Ennis Road and intending to turn left at Ivans for Northern Ring Road (N7) (Brookville Avenue) and traffic travelling North bound from Clonmacken Road intending to proceed towards Northern Ring Road (N7) (Brookville Ave) can expect to be diverted onto the Ennis Road at Ivan’s shop, Caherdavin Cross.Likewise Traffic travelling inbound (R464) from Parteen, Moyross, Long Pavement direction may be diverted onto New Rd.Thomondgate should the need arise.
Road Closures:
Road Closures will apply from 17.30Hrs onwards at the following locations:
Ennis Road at its junction / entrance into Lansdowne Park
Avondale Drive at it’s junction with Hillcrest Drive
Shelbourne Road at its junction with Shelbourne Park
Shelbourne Road at its junction with Mayorstone Drive
Old Cratloe Rd. at it’s junction with Knocklalisheen Rd.
Kileely Rd. (R464) at it’s junction Ballynanty Rd.Ballygrennan Rd
Old Cratloe Road at its junction with Mayorstone Avenue
Old Cratloe Road at its junction(s) with Mayorstone Upper
Merval Drive at it’s junction with Mayorstone Upper
Old Cratloe Road near its junction with Merval Drive & LIT Rbt,
