Witness Appeal - Discharge of firearm, Coolcotts, Co. Wexford, 16th May 2026.

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses in relation to an incident where a firearm was discharged at a domestic residence in the Coolcotts area of Wexford Town on Saturday 16th May at approximately 23:30pm.

A male in his 50s was taken to Wexford General Hospital for non life threatening injuries.

An incident room has been established at Wexford Garda Station, with a Senior Investigating Officer appointed to lead the investigation. The scene is currently being preserved for examination by the Garda Technical Bureau.

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to this incident to contact them. Any persons who were in Coolcotts and the adjoining area between 22:30pm and 23:30pm Saturday 16th May 2026 and who may have any information are asked to contact investigating Gardaí.

Anyone with camera footage (including dash-cam) is asked to make that footage available.
