Cannabis plants worth €240,000 seized in Carlow on the 2/1/13

As part of an ongoing investigation into the cultivation of herbal cannabis in the Carlow area cannabis plants were seized during a search operation earlier today.

The discovery was made this afternoon when Gardai searched at house at Old Burrin, Carlow town.  Approximately 300 cannabis plants at various stages of growth were seized with an estimated street value of €240,000 (pending analysis). 
 

A technical examination of the scene is underway and enquiries are ongoing.
