Robbery at Clarehall, Malahide Road, Dublin 17 - Arrests and cash recovered

Gardaí at Coolock are investigating a robbery at a supermarket at Clarehall, Dublin 17. At approximately 10.25pm last night (12/12/12) two men entered the supermarket one armed with a knife.

They threatened the two members of staff who were subsequently tied up and assaulted (injuries not serious).

An undisclosed amount of cash was taken during the robbery and both raiders fled on foot.  The staff members raised the alarm and a Garda unit was immediately on the scene. 
 

Two men matching the description of the raiders were stopped nearby.  An amount of cash was also recovered. Both men were arrested and conveyed to Cooloock Garda Station where they are currently detained under Section 4 Criminal Justice Act 1984. 
 

The scene of the robbery is preserved pending a technical examination. 
 

Investigations are continuing.
