Explosion at Crumlin, Dublin on the 23/4/08.

There was an explosion in the front garden of a house on Monasterboice Road, Crumlin, Dublin 12.

 

Shortly after 11pm on the 23/4/08 there was an explosion in the front garden of a house on Monasterboice Road, Crumlin, Dublin 12. 

On arrival at the scene Gardaí sealed off the area, evacuated houses and requested an Army Explosive Ordinance Disposal team. 

After an examination the army EOD team declared a device found at the scene as being an exploded pipe bomb. 

After a thorough search of the area residents were returned to their homes. 

It is believed that the device in question was thrown from a passing car and exploded in the front garden under the window. 

There was no damage to the house and there was a small indentation left in the ground where it exploded. 

No persons were injured and no arrests have been made. 

Investigations are ongoing.
