An Garda Síochána seeks to employ a Head of ICT Operations, (PO Level).

An Garda Síochána’s Digital Strategy 2019 – 2023 sets an exciting vision for the organisation to be a leader in digitally enabled policing with a mission of providing our front line policing and support staff with the technology to keep people safe. The Strategy aims to contribute to meeting the recommendations of the Commission on the Future of Policing in Ireland and the Department of the Taoiseach’s ‘A Policing Service for the Future’ Implementation Plan. In line with same we are strengthening the management team in our Information and Communications Technology (ICT) Branch to build our capability and deliver on the Strategy.

The Head of ICT Operations is responsible for the day to day operations and front line support of all ICT systems and will be responsible for ensuring that these services support ICT strategy, policy and business plans. ICT is a vital component in the daily work of An Garda Síochána and ensuring ICT support services are delivered to meet agreed service levels is critical to the overall success of the organisation. Therefore, a key area of responsibility for this role will be to ensure the highest levels of availability are maintained across the various services and infrastructure.
