Cash In Transit Robbery in Lucan, Dublin on the 3/10/17

Cash in transit robbery Lucan on the 3.10.17Gardaí at Lucan Garda Station are investigating a cash in transit robbery that occurred on Tuesday 3rd October 2017 on Main Street, Lucan at approximately 12.20pm.

The security van driver was making a delivery to a bank on the Main Street when a green Volkswagen Golf registration number 04WH3679 pulled up behind the security van and the front passenger got out and ran towards the driver, he was armed with a handgun and demanded the cashbox. The driver dropped the cashbox and the man grabbed the box and ran back towards the waiting car.

The car was recovered at Riverforrest estate, Leixlip, it had been set alight.

CCTV captured the VW Golf prior to the robbery at the Riverforrest Shopping centre, this car was purchased using a false name on in June, Gardaí are appealing to anyone who may have information as to where this car was stored between June and the date of the robbery.
