Robbery at an Antique Shop, Tullamore, Offaly on the 5/12/13

Gardaí at Tullamore Garda Station are appealing for information in relation to a robbery at an Antiques Shop on Thursday the 5th December last.

It was just after 9.30am and the shop owner had just opened up for business. A few moments later, a Renault Laguna registration number 99D974 pulled up outside. Two masked and armed men got out of the car and entered the shop. They threatened the owner and demanded money. They demanded to know where the safe was and brought the owner to the office. They ransacked the office looking for cash and jewellery. The owner managed to press the panic alarm. The raiders fled the shop taking a large quantity of items with them.

Appeal:

• The Renault Laguna was sold in Dublin on the 19th of October 2013. The registration details provided by the person who bought it do not exist.

• The car was recovered in Chancery Lane which is less than half a mile from the Antique Shop. Gardaí are appealing to anyone in the area who may have seen anything to come forward.
