Armed Robbery at a Bank in Kilkee, Co.Clare on the 29/6/12

The Gardaí at Kilrush Garda Station are investigating an armed robbery at a bank in Kilkee, Co. Clare that occurred on Friday the 29th June 2012 at approximately 10.55am.


A lone male approached the bank armed with a handgun. He entered the bank and went behind the front counter. He pointed the gun at staff and threatened them. He demanded money from the tills and the safe. He placed the money into an Addidas bag and fled on foot from the bank. He was seen nearby getting into a silver van.
 

Appeal:


• The raider was captured on CCTV in the bank, with his face uncovered wearing a black and white scarf around his neck.

• Gardaí are appealing for information on the movements of the raider before and after the robbery. The raider was seen on Railway Road at 10.15am before the robbery and heading towards the beach after the robbery.

• Anyone with information in relation to the raider and his vehicle, which is described at a silver van.
