Aggravated Burglary at Kilmancanogue, Co. Wicklow on the 13/7/12

The Gardaí at Bray Garda Station are investigating an aggravated burglary that occurred at a private residence just off the N11, near Kilmancanogue, Co.Wicklow on Friday the 13th of July 2012.


At 2.30am three masked men approached the back of the house. They were armed with two crowbars and an axe.


They forced their way in through the back door and approached the bedroom, where the couple of the house were asleep in bed. The raiders stood over the couple and woke them up, they forced them onto the floor and tied their hands.  Two of the raiders took the man downstairs, leaving the third raider guarding the woman.


A short time later one of the raiders brought the woman downstairs to an office where her husband was being held.


During the one hour ordeal the men took a gold coloured “Senator” safe, several paintings, and a picture frame containing fifty to sixty butterflies. They also stole several items of jewellery including two men’s watches a “Raymondville” watch and a “Milius” watch. The raiders also stole a Samsung galaxy mobile phone.


The raiders locked the couple into the office and made their getaway in a vehicle.The woman then managed to climb out the office window and contact the Gardaí.


Description of Raiders:


Raider 1: Over six foot tall,dublin accent, dark clothing and balaclava.

Raider 2: Five foot ten inches in height, dublin accent, dark clothing and balaclava.

Raider 3: Five foot eight inches in height,dublin accent, dark clothing and balaclava


Appeal:

• Gardaí believe there may have been a fourth person waiting in a car nearby. Did you see a car parked in Kilmacanogue between 2am and 3am.

• Some of the property stolen is very distinctive. Gardaí are appealing to anyone who may have come across any of the property to contact them.

• The safe is described as a “Senator” make, gold in colour, approx 2 foot square.

• Gardaí are appealing to anyone with information in relation to this crime to come forward.
