Murder of Andrew Allen

The Gardaí at Buncrana Garda Station are investigating the murder of Andrew Allen (Dob) 05/03/1987. Andrew was 24 years old and originally from Waterside in Derry.


At 9.30pm on Thursday, the 9th February 2012 Andrew Allen was in his house at Links View Park with his partner, they were in a downstairs room at the front of the house.  His partner heard a noise outside and looked out the window, she saw a gunman standing at the door.  Shots were fired in through the window hitting Andrew and fatally wounding him.  The gunmen made their getaway in a silver Vauxhall Cavalier registration number SJI2117.  This car was subsequently recovered burnt out on Church Brae Road in Fahan, 1km off the main Bridgend to Derry Road.


Appeal:

• Anyone who was in the Links View Park area and may have seen suspicious activity before or after the incident between the Fahan area and Derry to come forward.

• The Silver Vauxhall Cavalier was sold on the 9th January and registered in a false name and address, did you see this car in Derry or Buncrana during these four weeks?

• Did you see this car on the Church Brae Road area or a second vehicle here on the night of the murder?
