Career Highlights:

  • As Executive Director of Information and Communications Technology (ICT) in An Garda Síochána, Liam Kidd is responsible for the delivery of all ICT projects, services and solutions to support the organisation in achieving its business objectives
  • Prior to joining An Garda Síochána, he worked for a short period in the Public Sector Modernisation Unit in the Department of an Taoiseach.
  • From 2000 to 2007 he was Head of Information Systems for the Department of Communications, Energy and Natural Resources.  
  • He has extensive experience in the area of ICT at all levels in public and private sector organisations both in Ireland and overseas.  


  • He was educated at Beneavin College.
  • In 1996 he received a BSc (Information Systems) from Trinity College.
  • In 2006 he completed an MSc Innovative Government (First) run jointly by Letterkenny Institute of Technology and the University of Ulster.
