Court Appearance - Serious Assault in Newcastle West, Limerick on the 17/2/18

Newcastle West Assault Gardaí in Newcastle West Garda Station investigating a serious assault on Maiden Street in the town at around 5 p.m. on Saturday 17th February 2018, have charged a man in his 20s.

The man is due to appear before Limerick District Court on Monday 19th February at 10.30 am, charged with assault.

Gardaí in Newcastle West are investigating a serious assault that occurred on Maiden Street, Newcastle West at around 5 p.m. this evening, Saturday 17th February 2018.

One man (21 years)was removed to University Hospital Limerick and is in a critical condition. The scene is currently preserved.

One male (late 20s) was arrested at the scene and is currently detained under Section 4, Criminal Justice Act, 1984 at Newcastle West Garda Station.

Gardaí are appealing to any persons who were in the vicinity of Maiden Street or who can assist them with their investigation to contact them at the incident room of Newcastle West Garda Station on 069 20650, the Garda Confidential Line 1 800 666 1111, or any Garda Station.
