Assault investigation Gormanston Co. Meath 5th November

Gardaí investigating the assault of two teenaged boys on the 5th November in Gormanston have arrested two males aged in their teens. They were arrested earlier today (10/11/2017) in the Balbriggan area and are currently being detained in Ashbourne Garda Station under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984. Gardaí are investigating an assault on two teenaged boys on 5th November 2017.

During the early evening of Sunday 5th November, Gardaí responded to a call of a disturbance on the roadway leading to Gormanston Railway Station. Two 17 years old boys from Laytown reported being assaulted and required treatment at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital, Drogheda.

They were allegedly assaulted by a large group of males. The alleged attackers were described as both black and white youths and they were accompanied by females who witnessed the assaults. These groups boarded the train in Balbriggan Station and got off at Gormanston Station.

Gardaí in Laytown are appealing for anyone who may have witnessed this group of people either boarding or getting off the train or who were on the train between the above two stations on Sunday evening and who may be in a position to provide any information to Gardaí. Also, anyone who may have been in the vicinity of Gormanston Railway Station which is just off the R132 north of Balbriggan shortly after 4pm is asked to contact Gardaí.
