Witness appeal - Serious Traffic Collision in Scotstown, Monaghan on the 9/1/17

Gardaí in Monaghan are appealing for witnesses following a serious traffic collision in Scotstown on the 9th January 2017.

Shortly before 10pm a 74-year-old male pedestrian sustained serious injuries when he was struck by a car on a local road at Bough, near Scotstown. The injured man was treated by Emergency Services Personnel at the scene and removed by Ambulance to Cavan General Hospital. (His condition is understood to critical) The driver and of the car, a man in his 20s, was uninjured.

Garda Forensic Collision investigators are examining the scene of the collision and local traffic diversions are in place.
