Fatal road traffic collision on the M50 Northbound, Ballymun, Dublin on the 4/1/17

Gardaí are investigating a fatal road traffic collision that occurred on the M50 motorway Northbound close to junction 4, Ballymun this evening, Wednesday 4th January 2017 at approximately 5.30pm.

A male pedestrian, late 20s, suffered fatal injuries when he was struck by an articulated lorry. He was pronounced dead at the scene. His body was taken to James Connolly Memorial Hospital, Blanchardstown where a post mortem is to be arranged. No other injuries have been reported.

The M50 Northbound remains closed at junction 4, Ballymun to facilitate Garda Forensic Collision Investigators. Diversions are in place.
