As part of an on-going operation targeting the illegal sale and supply of controlled drugs in the County Westmeath area Gardaí have seized cannabis herb with an estimated value of €25,000, pending analysis.
The cannabis was seized follow the planned search of a premises at Ardleigh Vale, Mullingar yesterday evening, Wednesday 1st February 2017 at approximately 6pm.
Gardaí attached to the Westmeath Divisional Drugs Unit arrested a man, 26 years, at the scene. He was detained under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act, 1996 at Mullingar Garda Station. The male was charged and will appear before Mullingar District Ct this morning the 2nd February 2017.
