Firearm ammunition and two vehicles seized Dublin North City Centre 8th February 2017

As part of on-going investigations into recent organised criminal activity in Dublin North City Centre, Gardaí have seized two vehicles, a firearm and ammunition.  

While patrolling the area on foot yesterday evening, Wednesday 8th February 2017, Gardaí from Community Policing North Central Division, Dublin Metropolitan Area were alerted to two unoccupied vehicles parked in the locality. Following a search of the vehicles a loaded firearm and a canister of petrol was recovered.  

The two vehicles, firearm and ammunition have been seized for technical examination. No arrests have been made. Investigations are on-going.   Community Policing is the underpinning philosophy and ethos through which An Garda Síochána delivers a service to the community. The support of the community continue to be vital in the investigation of crime and An Garda Síochána are very conscious of the need to build on the considerable support we receive from the community.   Note to Editor: The firearm seized is a revolver. It was loaded at time of seizure.
