Fatal Road Traffic Collision Summerhill Co. Meath 16/02/17

Gardai in Trim are investigating a fatal road traffic collision that occurred on the Rathmolyon to Summerhill Road yesterday evening.

A male pedestrian in his 20s was found at approximately 8.50pm with fatal injuries at the side of the road after being struck by a vehicle. He was pronounced dead at the scene and his body was taken to Our Lady’s Hospital, Navan. The driver of the vehicle failed to remain at the scene.

This stretch of road is currently closed to facilitate an examination by Garda Forensic Collision Investigations and local diversions are in place.

Gardai wish to appeal for witnesses, anyone with information or to anyone who travelled this road between 8.30pm and 9pm yesterday evening to contact Trim Garda Station on 046-9481540, The Garda Confidential telephone Line 1800 666 111 or any Garda Station.
