Operation Thor Arrests in Co. Meath on the 24/10/16

At approximately 8pm on Monday the 24th of October 2016, as part of Operation Thor and ongoing investigations targeting burglaries in the Dublin and Eastern Region

conducted by the Garda National Drugs & Organised Crime Bureau, assisted by Eastern Region Gardai and the Emergency Response Unit, officers intercepted a stolen and re-plated vehicle which was travelling in the townland of Ratfeigh, Ashbourne Co. Meath.
 
During this operation two men, aged 41 and 31, were arrested. A 3 Ltr BMW stolen in the Dublin Region within the last week was recovered along with items suspected for use in the course of committing burglaries .
 
The arrested men were held in custody at Blackrock Garda Station, where they were detained under the provisions of Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984 and questioned throughout the night. Both are due to appear before Dun Laoghaire District Court at 10.30am this morning charged with the Unauthorised Taking of a vehicle and theft related charges.
