Two men arrested on the 7th November 2016 as part of the investigation into the murder of Gerard Eglington were last night 8th November 2016 released without charge.
Investigations are continuing.

Gardai in Portarlington, Co Laois investigating the murder of Gerard Eglington (27yrs) that occurred in the Kilnacourt Woods Housing Estate on the morning of the 24th Sept 2012 have today (7th November 2016) arrested two males (21 and 34 years) as part of their investigation into the murder. Both were arrested this morning and are being detained at Portlaoise Garda station under the provisions of section 30 Offences against the State Act 1939 as amended.
