Male charged - seizure of firearm Dublin on the 16/11/16

Gardaí have charged a man, 25 years, in connection with the seizure of a firearm.

He is due to appear before Dublin District Court, Criminal Courts of Justice tomorrow morning, Saturday 19th November 2016 at 10.30am.

Gardaí seized the firearm following the planned search of a property in the Fitzgibbon Street Sub District on Wednesday 16th November 2016. The man was arrested and detained at Mountjoy Garda Station under Section 30 of the Offences Against the State Act, 1939 as amended. He remains in Garda custody.  

Note: The firearm seized is a M70 assault rifle.
