First Anniversary of Missing Person Barry Corcoran - 6/7/16

On the first anniversary of the disappearance of Barry Corcoran, Gardaí at Ballyfermot are appealing to the public in tracing the whereabouts of the 39 year old father of a six year old daughter. He is from the Wicklow town area.

On the morning of the 6th July 2015 Barry Corcoran left his home in Wicklow town and went to the Post Office on Main Street. He was in the Post Office at 9.35am for a few minutes where he conducted some personal business.

Barry then travelled from Wicklow town to Dublin on Bus Eireann bus No. 133 from outside Flannery’s Shop in Wicklow town to Dublin City Centre. It is believed he initially went to the Fitzgibbon Street area to visit a gym in order make contact with a friend of his. He subsequently travelled on the Luas red line out as far as the Kylemore stop on the Naas Road, arriving there in or around 2pm.

Barry would not have been familiar with this area of the city but got directions from his friend and arranged to meet him at the Luas stop. Barry made some purchases in a local shop on Kylemore Road at 2.30pm & again at 6.45pm.  Barry was visiting friends on Cremona Road, Ballyfermot on the evening and night of the 6th July 2015. Barry was last sighted on Cremona Road, Ballyfermot on the night of Monday the 6th July 2015.

Barry Corcoran’s family and friends have not heard from him since the 6th July 2015 and they are very concerned for his safety and wellbeing.

Barry is described as 5’11" in height and is of thin build. He has short grey hair and blue eyes. Barry is described as walking with a slight ‘shuffle’ having injured his hip in an accident a number of years ago. Barry also has an old scar on the bridge of his nose. When Barry was last seen he was wearing a dark rain jacket, blue jeans and black Puma runners.
