Fatal Traffic Collision in Dunboyne, Meath on the 26/7/16

Gardaí in Ashbourne are appealing for witnesses following a fatal traffic collision in Dunboyne, Co. Meath on 26th July 2016.

At approximately 8.50pm a 42-year-old man was seriously injured when the car he was driving collided head on with a second car. The collision occurred on the R152 (Dunboyne to Maynooth Road) at Castlefarm near Dunboyne. He was taken by ambulance to Connolly Hospital Blanchardstown where he was later pronounced dead. He was the sole occupant of the car. The driver and four passengers in the second car were also removed to hospital. Their injuries are not believed to be life threatening.

The road is closed and local traffic diversions are in place.  The scene is preserved and Garda forensic collision investigators will conduct an examination this morning (27/7/2016). The local coroner has been notified.
