Seizure of heroin with an approx street value of €140,000 in Dublin 1 on the 4/1/16

Gardai attached to Mountjoy Garda station received a call of a suspicious car parked on Portland Street North on the 4th January 2016.

When Gardai approached the car they noticed that the boot was open. When they further investigated they noticed two packages on the spare tyre. Gardai believed the packages contained a controlled substance. The car was impounded and the substance was identified as heroin with an approximate street value of €140,000. Gardai are appealing for witnesses or anyone who may have seen individuals acting suspiciously around this car, a green Ford Focus between 11.30am and 1pm on the 4th January 2016 to contact them in Mountjoy on 01 6668600, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111 or any Garda station.
