Press Briefing - Discovery of body at Ardclough Village, Kildare on the 16/1/16

Gardaí investigating the discovery of a body in the canal at Ardclough, County Kildare will make a witness appeal close to the scene at 2pm this afternoon, Sunday 17th January 2016.

Members of the media are invited to rendezvous adjacent to the GAA grounds in the village at 1.45pm this afternoon. Superintendent Gerry Wall, Leixlip will make a witness appeal through the media at 2pm.

Gardai in Leixlip are investigating the discovery of a body in a container, in the canal at Ardclough Village, Co. Kildare this afternoon, Saturday 16th January, 2016 at approximately 3.30p.m.

The scene is currently preserved pending a technical examination and the body remains at the scene. The Office of the State Pathologist has been notified.


The investigation is ongoing and further updates will follow.
