As part of ongoing Operation Thor Gardaí from Divisional Task Force in Wexford have arrested 5 males. The incident occured at approximately 3pm on 7th January 2016 when a van failed to stop for Gardaí when signalled to do so at Drumberry, Bunclody, County Wexford.
The van was abandoned a short distance away and the occupants fled on foot. They were arrested a short distance away. A number of items such as gloves and a hammer were found concealed in the vehicle.
The 5 males who range in age from early 20's to early 30's, and including a juvenile were detained at Enniscorthy Garda station under Section 4 of Criminal Justice Act, 1984.
Four men are due to appear at a special sitting of Gorey District Court this morning, Friday 8th January 2016 at 11am. The juvenile has been released without charge and file to be forwarded to Juvenile Liaison Office.
