Drug seizure and arrest in Gorey, Wexford on the 24/2/16

Gardaí have arrested a man in his late 20s and seized a quantity of cocaine at a checkpoint in Gorey, Co. Wexford.

Gardaí operating an Operation Thor crime checkpoint near Gorey stopped a car yesterday afternoon 24th February 2016. During the course of a routine search Gardaí discovered two bags of cocaine with an estimated street value of €30,000 as well as house breaking implements.

The man was arrested and detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984. He will appear at a sitting of Gorey District Court at 10.30am this morning 25th February 2016 charged in relation to the incident.
