Serious road traffic collision on the R363, Roscommon on the 26/8/16

Gardaí in Roscommon are investigating a serious two car road traffic collision in Co Roscommon on the 26th August 2016.

The collision on the Brideswell to Athlone Road (1 mile outside Brideswell) R363 occurred at approximately 4am between two cars. The sole occupant of one car, a male(23years) was seriously injured in the collision and has been taken to Tullamore Hospital. There were two adults and two children (aged 2 & 6 years) in the second car, all four were taken to Portiuncla Hospital, Ballinasloe for treatment. Their medical condition is unknown at this stage.

The road is closed to facilitate a Forensic Collision examination and the road will remain closed until lunchtime. There are local diversions in place.
