Drugs and assorted items seized and 2 arrests in South Dublin City on the 25/8/16

As part of Operation Thistle targeting organised criminals in the south inner city of Dublin Gardaí from the South Central Division assisted by the newly formed Special Crime Task Force and the Drugs and Organised Crime Bureau carried out a number of searches in the south inner city this morning (25/8/16)

Searches of four premises were carried out resulting in the seizure of a quantity of heroin (subject to analysis) with an estimated street value of €3,000, a substantial sum of money and other items of stolen property were also recovered including jewellery to the value of €30,000, one watch has a value of €15,000. Documents have been seized which will be forensically examined.

An Audi A3 was also seized as part of this operation.

This operation was coordinated by Detective Superintendent Peter O'Boyle.

Two people have been arrested (male & female both in their 20’s)  in connection with this investigation are currently detained at Kevin Street Garda Station under the provisions of Section 2 Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act 1996.
