Correction Hit and run collision Cork 29th April 2016

Gardaí are seeking witnesses to a hit and run traffic collision on Lower Glanmire Road, Cork city in the early hours of this morning 29th April 2016


At about 2.05am (not 2.05pm as previously stated) a pedestrian, man in his 30s, received serious injuries when he was struck by a car that failed to remain at the scene.

The victim was exiting a taxi just beyond Kent Train Station when he was struck. Witnesses describe the offending car as a grey Toyota, possibly a Statlet or a Corolla. It is possible the offending vehicle left in the direction of Grattan Hill.

The injured man was taken to Cork University Hospital where he is being treated for his injuries, which do not appear to be life threatening.
