Gardai in Monaghan investigating an assault at Woodview, Killygowan, Monaghan have arrested a 19 year old male this evening in the Monaghan area.
He is currently detained under the provisions of Section 4 of The Criminal Justice Act 1984 at Monaghan Garda Station.

Gardaí are appealing for information following an assault incident in Co. Monaghan on the 10th of September 2015.
At approximately 23.50hours Gardaí attended the scene of a disturbance at Woodview, Killygowan, Monaghan. On arrival a male aged in late 20's was discovered on the roadway in an unconscious state with injuries to his head. He was taken by ambulance to Cavan General Hospital and later removed to Beaumont Hospital. (His condition is understood to be critical)
A technical and forensic examination of the scene has been carried out. No arrests have been made to date.
