Drug seizures and arrests Dublin - 10th October 2015

On the 10th October 2015, as part of an intelligence led operation targeting drug traffickers operating in the Ballyfermot area of Dublin, officers of the Drugs and Organised Crime Bureau assisted by local Gardaí, intercepted a vehicle on Conyingham Road, Islandbridge and seized a significant quantity of heroin and cocaine. A 45-year-old male was arrested at the scene.

During a follow up search at a house in Ballyfermot, further significant quantities of heroin, cocaine and cannabis herb were seized.  A male (24) and a female (21) were arrested.
 
The street value of controlled drugs seized in this investigation is estimated to be in excess of €1.6 million (pending analysis).
 
The three arrested persons are currently detained, under the provisions of Section 2 of the Criminal  Justice ( Drug Trafficking ) Act, 1996 at Lucan and Finglas Garda stations.

The investigation is ongoing a further updates will follow.
