Drug and Cash seizure Sligo 6th / 7th October 2015

Gardaí have seized drugs and cash and arrested a male as part of an ongoing investigation into the sale and supply of controlled drugs in Sligo.

 

A 53-year-old male was arrested yesterday evening (6/10/2015) when Gardaí stopped and searched a car at Lagan Drive, Sligo. Cocaine and Cannabis with an estimated street value in excess of €24,000 (pending analysis) was recovered during the operation.
 

The arrested man is currently detained under the provisions of Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act, 1996 at Ballymote Garda Station. (He can be detained for up to seven days.)
 

During follow up searches at a number of residential addresses in the Sligo Town area Gardaí seized €91,000 cash and further smaller quantities of Cocaine and Cannabis.
