A man in his 50s is due to appear at a special sitting of Kilkenny District Court charged in relation to the murder of Ann Nancy Smith on September 11th 1987 at Wolfe Tone Street, Kilkenny.
This evening Thursday 15th October 2015 Garda based at Kilkenny arrested a 52 year old man in the city and brought him to Kilkenny Garda station where he was subsequently charged with murder.
Ann Nancy Smith, a 79 year old widow, living alone was found deceased at her home at 42A Wolfe Tone Street, Kilkenny on 11th September 1987.
The man is currently detained at Kilkenny Garda station will appear at a special sitting of Kilkenny District court at courthouse Parliament Street, Kilkenny at 9.30am Friday 16th October 2015.
