Gardai in Mullingar investigating the murder of Brigid Maguire at Main Street Ballynacargy yesterday 14th November 2015 have arrested a male this evening. The male in his 50’s was arrested in Mullingar and is currently detained at Mullingar Garda Station under the provisions of Section 4 of The Criminal Justice Act 1984.
The post mortem has been completed and the results passed to the investigation team and Gardai are now conducting a murder investigation.
An incident room has been established at Mullingar Garda Station. Gardai would like to appeal to any members of the public who may have seen anything unusual or suspicious in or around the Ballynacargy area of Westmeath between 5pm and 10pm on the 14/11/2015 to contact Mullingar Garda Station on 044-9384000, The Garda Confidential Telephone Line 1800 666 111 or any Garda Station.
