Further arrests - Fatal stabbing incident in Dublin 8 on the 1/11/15

Gardaí investigating the murder of Lorcan O’Reilly on 1/11/15 have this morning (20/11/15) arrested four men in connection with this investigation.

All four are detained at Kevin Street, Kilmainham, Donnybrook and Sundrive Road Garda Stations under the provisions of Section 30 Offences Against the State Act 1939.

Five people have been arrested by Gardaí investigating the murder of Lorcan O’Reilly.

Three males and two females (who range in age from late teens to early 20s) were arrested this morning (16/11/2015) in the Dublin area. They are currently detained under Section 30 of the Offences against the State Act, 1939 at a number of south city Garda stations. They can be held for up to 72 hours.

Gardaí at Kevin Street investigating the murder of Lorcan O’Reilly, are appealing for witnesses.

Lorcan O’Reilly, 21 years, was fatally stabbed at the Oliver Bond Flats complex, Dublin 8 on Sunday 1st November 2015 between 2am and 3am. He was taken to Saint James Hospital where he was later pronounced dead.

A post mortem was carried out by the State Pathologist Doctor Bolster on 1st November 2015.

The scene was preserved and a forensic and technical examination was carried out by the Garda Technical Bureau. A thorough search of the area has also been conducted.

An incident room has been established at Kevin Street Garda Station and a senior investigating officer and a family liaison officer and a team of detectives have been appointed in this case. House to house enquiries continue to be carried out and up to 100 enquiries have been conducted to date.

"Superintendent Patrick McMenamin at Kevin Street Garda Station today wishes to acknowledge the excellent assistance and co-operation received from the community of the Oliver Bond complex. He further stated that a number of people were present who know what occurred or are in possession of information to assist this investigation and I am appealing to these people to come forward by contacting Kevin Street Garda Station or the Garda Confidential Line”.

Gardai in Kevin Street are investigating a fatal stabbing incident which occurred at the Oliver Bond flat complex, Dublin 8 on the 1st November 2015.

The incident occurred shortly before 2.45am when a male (21 years) received serious stab wounds to his body. He was taken to St James's Hospital for treatment. He was later pronounced dead and and post mortem is expected to take place later today.
