Gardai in Thurles are investigating a fatal road traffic collision that occured at Turtulla Cross, Tortulla, Thurles yesterday afternoon, Saturday 31st October, 2015.
The collison occured at approximately 3.10 pm on the Thurles to Horsey & Jockey Road (one km outside Thurles) between a car and a pedestrian (47 years), and male driver (32 years) and three children who were in the car at the time of the collision were uninjured. The injured pedestrian was treated at scene by ambulance staff and then brought to South Tipperary General Hospital where he was pronounced dead a short time later. A post mortem is expected to be carried out later.
The road was closed to facilitate a Garda Forensic Collision investigation but was open later yesterday evening.
