Case review searches - Missing person Barbara Walsh Carna County Galway June 1985

Gardaí investigating the circumstances surrounding the disappearance of Barbara Walsh, reported missing on 29th June 1985 are currently carrying out planned searches of premises and lands at Rusheenamanagh, Carna, Co Galway.

Barbara Walsh was last seen at her home in Carna, Co Galway on the 22nd June 1985 at approximately 4am. She was 33 years of age at the time.

A full review of this case was launched in January 2015 as part of an ongoing review of all missing persons in the Galway Garda Division. A Senior Investigating Officer has been appointed and an incident room has been established. 112 lines of enquiry have been generated and close to 60 people have been interviewed in the course of this review.

The planned and structured searches are being carried out by investigating Gardaí with the assistance of the Garda Technical Bureau.
