Witness Appeal - Assault in Blanchardstown, Dublin on the 17/5/15

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to an assault in Blanchardstown in the early hours of Sunday 17th May 2015.

At 2.30a.m. a woman in her late 30's, who was using a crutch, was walking her dog on Blakestown Way just before the N3 flyover. The woman was assaulted by a man described as, in his late 20s, 6' tall with a Dublin accent and a chipped left front tooth.  He was wearing jeans and a dark coloured hoody.

A passing taxi man pulled up and intervened in the incident. The suspected offender ran away and the taxi driver left the scene without giving his name to the woman. The intervention of the taxi driver undoubtedly prevented this becoming a more serious assault.

Gardaí are appealing for the taxi driver or anyone else with information to contact them at Blanchardstown Garda Station on 01 666 7000.
