Newborn baby girl discovered alive Rathcoole County Dublin 8th May 2015

Gardaí attended the scene of a medical incident at Rathcoole, County Dublin this afternoon, Friday 8th May 2015 at approximately 3.30pm. A newborn baby girl was discovered alone and alive close to a business premises on Steelstown Road, Rathcoole.

The child was tended to at the scene by medical staff and Gardaí and was taken to Tallaght Hospital. The baby’s condition is described as stable.
Superintendent Brendan Connolly, speaking today at Clondalkin Garda station made the following appeal, "Gardaí are concerned for the welfare of the mother of this child and are appealing for her to seek immediate medical treatment  and to contact Gardaí who are anxious to reunite her with her baby”.
