Drug seizure in Co. Galway on the 4/5/15

As part of on-going intelligence-led operations targeting the sale and supply of controlled drugs in Co. Galway, An Garda Siochana have seized cannabis plants, cannabis herb and arrested a male.

Gardai from the Tuam District Drug and Detective Units assisted by the Galway Divisional Drug Unit carried out a planned search of a house on the Galway Road, Tuam at approximately 10.25pm last night. Cannabis plants and cannabis herb (pending analysis) with a combined estimated street value of up to €22,000 were seized. A male in his late 20’s was arrested at the scene and was detained under the provisions Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984 at Tuam Garda Station. He was released without charge in the early hours of this morning and a file will be prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions.
