As a result of a ongoing operation by Gardai from the North Central Drug Unit, based at Store Street, a car was stopped and two male occupants were searched on Western Way, Dublin 7 on the 20th March 2015.
During the course of the search Gardai discovered €500 worth of cannabis herb(subject to analysis).
During a follow up search of two properties in the Dublin area Gardai discovered 60,000 cigarettes and 800 packets of tobacco pouches with a combined value of €38,000. The two males(37 and 28 years) were taken to Store St Garda station where they were detained under the provisions of section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984 as amended. The were later released and a file is being prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions.
